Journal History

Buletin Penelitian Sosial Ekonomi Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Halu Oleo (BPSosek Faperta) was first published in 2007 in print format using a print ISSN (p-ISSN: 1410-4466). In its early days, the journal focused on publishing research results in agricultural socio-economics by academics, researchers, and practitioners at the regional and national levels.

Entering the era of digitalisation, in 2019, the journal began to be published online via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) 2 platform, with e-ISSN: 2656-4270, at the website address: https://ojs.uho.ac.id/index.php/sosek. The transition to a digital platform aims to expand access, increase article visibility, and support a more efficient and transparent editorial process.

In 2021, BPSosek Faperta, through the Agribusiness Department of the Faculty of Agriculture, Halu Oleo University, established a publishing partnership with the Indonesian Agricultural Economics Association (PERHEPI/ISAE). This collaboration further strengthens the journal's position as a reputable scientific medium in agricultural socio-economics.

In the same year, the journal obtained SINTA 3 national accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia through SK No. 164/E/KPT/2021 dated 27 December 2021. This accreditation is valid for five (5) years, covering publications from Volume 23 Number 1 (2021) to Volume 27 Number 2 (2025).

To improve the quality of scientific publication management, in 2022, BPSosek Faperta will fully migrate from OJS 2 to OJS 3. Starting from Volume 24 Number 2 (2022), the entire publishing, editorial, and manuscript management processes will be carried out through the new website: https://ejournal.agribisnis.uho.ac.id/index.php/sosek

This migration to OJS 3 marks an important milestone in the modernisation of journal management, strengthening the transparency of the editorial process, improving accessibility, and promoting professionalism in scientific publication management within the Faculty of Agriculture at Halu Oleo University.
